The Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District completely upgraded their main terminal facilities in downtown Santa Barbara starting in 2001 and completing the last phase in 2003.  The project included new district offices, garage and maintenance expansion, bus wash, service canopy, electric bus storage facilities and major yard improvements.  The facility covers almost the entire city block with the buildings and landscaping presenting a pleasant face to the surrounding neighborhood.
